Weird Church in the Woods: The Gift of Curiosity

The Gift of Curiosity

Saturday May 23 @ 3 pm

Curiosity is not just about gaining knowledge but learning how to behave in a complex and confusing world.

Questioning has many purposes – it enables us to discover new truths.  When we admit we don’t know something, we open ourselves to new revelations.  Questioning also helps us understand the boundaries of our patterns of thinking while enabling us to explore beyond our comfort zone in nonthreatening ways.  Often the answers will well up from within us.  Thomas Merton calls this the ‘hidden wholeness’, the image of God hidden in our souls.

Questions also remind us that there is still mystery in our world, wisdom beyond understanding that we should embrace rather than dismiss.  God is far bigger and far more complex than the explanations we may hope for.

Bring your device into the woods, if possible, or perhaps just onto your deck (or even your living room!) and join us for this time of guided reflection and meditation where we will seek to connect with the Hidden Wholeness and wonder with the Divine.
