Where Did We Come From?

IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

Cumberland United Church was the spiritual centre in the Village of Cumberland for nearly 130 years and closed it's doors with much sadness November 26, 2017.

This left the Village without a liberal, progressive Christian voice; without a place for seekers to explore in a space that was inclusive of folks no matter their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, belief, marital status, race, etc.

Hence the seed for Weird Church was planted - a place to explore faith and spirituality in non-traditional forms with loads of room for wondering and no barriers to participation.  A community centred group open to radical transformation in love from the inside out where we are all teachers, all learners, all children of God held in infinite love.

Don't forget to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram.

Weird Church was started through a generous grant from the Pacific Mountain Region of The United Church of Canada and now operates on donations, rentals, and other grant opportunities. Please check out https://www.weirdchurchcumberland.com/how-to-donate if you would like to contribute to this awesome place (and get a tax receipt at the end of the year).
