Friday Feast: Friday May 29th 6:30 pm
The Gift of Curiosity: Asking Good Questions
British Theologian John Stott wrote, “the answers we get depend on the questions we ask,” encouraging readers to shift the kinds of questions they ask to go deeper into their spiritual journey. Sometimes the concept of God we grow up with or learn from snippets of religious programming or politicians on television is too small for the realities of life. Spiritual community is about grappling with questions and uncovering new and unexpected answers – or more questions – that stretch and enrich our faith. Sometimes doubts are intensified by asking the wrong question. Perhaps instead of the “why does God allow suffering?” question, we might perhaps wonder, “what does God call me to do when I encounter suffering?” or “where is God in the midst of suffering?”
Let’s seek good questions together: ones that help us think, re-imagine, and mine for creativity.
Friday Feast is a time of gathering around the virtual table (bring your dinner if you like!), hosting spiritual conversation and reflection, and enjoying a little local music. Everyone (yes, everyone) is welcome.
Weird Church is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
