  • Weird Church 2688 Penrith Avenue PO Box 644 Cumberland, BC, V0R 1S0 Canada (map)

Praying Twice

Choral Explorations

Tuesdays: September 24, October 22, November 26

10am - 11:45am

The primary content is an exploration of the diverse and rich music created by Ron Klusmeier, who, alongside his talented writing partners, has astonishingly produced over 1,000 hymns, songs, and choral anthems. In this engaging session, music will be taught and sung that reflects a liberal theology, offering participants an opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of these works. Furthermore, background information and intriguing stories about the authors, as well as the unique circumstances associated with the creation of this inspiring music, will be shared to enhance the experience. While group participation in the music-making is actively encouraged, it’s also entirely acceptable to simply engage and connect by listening attentively.

Participants

Choir singers, directors, musicians, clergy and any others interested in music, especially in the context of church services.

Cost

In order to keep the workshops accessible, they are offered by donation with a suggested donation of $10-$50 per session. For those who wish, a tax receipt at the end of the year is available.

Payments of cash, cheque (to “Weird Church”), e-transfer (info@weirdchurchcumberland with “Praying Twice” in the message line) are welcome. Please include your name, address and email if you would like a tax receipt.
