Reconciling Ourselves to this Land: A Beginning
On this day of Truth & Reconciliation let’s take a pause to connect with land that holds, feeds, and sustains us. By taking time, following reflection prompts, to listen to the earth, we shift to gratitude and humility and reverence for the earth, away from a colonized mindset of scarcity, overuse and apathy. This is part of the decolonizing work of settlers in this place, deconstructing ingrained ideas that keep us separated.
Starting from the church (2688 Penrith Ave.) and entering into the forest, we will prepare ourselves together and then head off on our own journey through the woods, listening to the wisdom of the natural world all around us. We will then reconvene for a time of sharing and reflecting on our experiences.
Come with an attitude of experimentation, curiosity, and a readiness to connect. (weather appropriate attire recommended)
No preparation, no expectations, no pressure.
